Private Lessons

I have been teaching professionally for more than ten years. I have taught privately and through various music schools in the NYC area. Currently I am a faculty member of the Chhandayan Center for Indian Music and Ezra Guitar School of Music. I have given masterclasses and clinics around the country from New York to Texas. There is nothing more gratifying to me than when I see a student who is hungry and who puts in the work and succeeds. 

I offer Percussion lessons in multiple areas such as (North Indian Tabla, Drum Set, Darbuka, Riqq, Frame Drum and Orchestral Percussion). I aim to help those who want to improve their system of practice and understanding. Whether you are a beginner, are wanting to be introduced to the instrument or are an advanced player seeking the next step - I offer a detailed, methodical system that will satisfy your needs.

I have been lucky enough to have had amazing teachers all my life: most importantly Samir Chatterjee, Yshai Afterman and Dr. Kay Stonefelt. The years I studied music influenced me and shaped the way I teach, opting for an approach that simultaneously seeks a rhythmical and technical mastery on the instrument and a personal and meaningful connection to the instrument as a tool for self expression.
